A real whistle-stop tour of France from Champagne to Chateauneuf-du-Pape with Alastair Llewellyn-Smith.
The wines on show include:
J.P. Robert Cuvee Reserve Champagne, NV
Grower Champagne, aged in bottle for three years before release. Full flavoured and a bright golden colour with rich biscuit characters and great length.
Chateau de la Negly, La Brise Marine, Coteaux du Languedoc Blanc, 2011
From the famous ‘La Clape Cru’ of Languedoc, this is a small production white made from 60% Bourboulenc, 30% Grenache Blanc and 10% Marsanne.
Pouilly Fuisse 24 Carats, Domaine Eric Forest 2009
A wine only made during the best vintages, this is a typically elegant and flawless wine from Eric Forest. We’re the only UK merchants selling this fantastic wine, limited availability!
Saint Chinian Initiale, Domaine des Jougla 2009
A quaffable Languedoc red blend of Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault using very old vines. Cherry and toast aromas, berry fruit and real elegance.
Chateau de Franc Les Cerisiers, Cotes de Francs, 2004
“This wine appetisingly reflects its limestoney birthplace with focussed black fruit and an insistent streak of minerality.”
Oz Clarke
Alain Brumont, Pacherenc Doux Vendemiare, Maumusson-Laguian, 2005
And now for something completely different! A late-harvest Petit Manseng from the Pacherenc appellation in South-West France. Elegant and fresh with tropical fruit and mineral flavours combining.
Our tasting events are always very popular, so act now to avoid disappointment…
