at The Good Wine Shop Kew
Pinot Mania: an irrational and expensive obsession with the world’s most fickle and enchanting red grape.
At The Good Wine Shop Kew we will be celebrating the Pinot Noir grape by opening six examples from six different countries across the globe to taste:
- Calusari Pinot Noir, Romania
Strikingly aromatic with violets and dried cherries on the nose, a fantastically juicy berry palate and a smooth finish.
- Edoardo Miroglio Pinot Noir, Bulgaria
A versatile and refreshing red that is as happy with a seared fillet of sea bass as it is with a serious piece of chicken.
- Austin’s Sixfootsix Pinot Noir, Geelong, Australia
The Sixfootsix label was born with the purpose of delivering affordable, fruit-driven, immediate-drinking Pinot Noir.
- Girlan Pinot Noir, Alto Adige, Italy
A full-bodied Pinot that can stand up to meat dishes excellently but delivers juicy fruit and a velvety mouthfeel.
- Misha’s Vineyard ‘The High Note’ Pinot Noir, Otago, New Zealand
Made by one of the respected Ata Rangi winemakers, this lovely Pinot is close to the Martinborough style in that it is more Burgundian than New World – finesse, elegance and class.
- Rully, Burgundy, France
Appealingly juicy and fruity but with that distinctly feral Burgundian edge.
Whether you’re a confessed Pinot addict or just interested to learn more, please do drop by and have a taste on Saturday or Sunday.
