We are proud to present our Tasting Schedule for the Autumn and Winter of 2012. After the huge success of our sold-out Spring tastings we advise that you book tickets in advance in order to avoid disappointment.
All events will be held at The Good Wine Shop Kew.
Thursday October 11 (8pm) – Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Natural Wine (But Were Afraid to Ask)
Whether you’re drawn to the idea of artisan as opposed to huge commercial scale wine-making, or you simply prefer your wine made with as little interference as possible, or feel you may react to high doses of sulphur in some wines, you’ll find our guide to organic, biodynamic and natural wines fascinating and the content of the bottles equally enthralling!
We’re really pleased to welcome Dario Poddana from Les Caves de Pyrene, a company which has long championed such wines, as our guide for the evening. Dario will be taking us through a lovely selection of wines red and white from Europe and beyond, all with a real sense of place.
As ever, all the wines will be available to buy on the evening at a specially discounted rate.
So, join us for an evening of great wines, good company and an insight into ‘hands off’ wine-making…
Tickets £10 in advance.

*FREE* Saturday November 3 (12-4pm) – Robin Williamson of Domaine de Saumarez
Anglo-New Zealand couple Robin (right) and Liz Williamson gave up life in the City to live the dream of making wine in France’s Languedoc. Their 15-hectare property is in the village of Murviel-les-Montpellier and they have 12 hectares under vine, producing mostly Grenache and Syrah. Their ‘S de Saumarez’ and ‘Trinitas’ have developed a cult following at The Good Wine Shop and this will be a fantastic opportunity to meet Robin while he’s back in Blighty.
Thursday November 8 (8pm) – South African Safari with Pippa
Pippa from The Good Wine Shop Kew presents a selection of wines influenced by her recent trip to South Africa.
Thursday November 22 (8pm) – Le Tour de France
If French wines give you a frisson, then don’t miss this tasting with Alastair from Thorman Hunt. As the name promises, this will be a real whistlestop tour of France from Champagne to Chateauneuf-du-Pape but don’t worry we won’t make you ride your bike home!
Thursday November 29 (8pm) – Disgracefully Drinkable Compass Box Whiskies with John Glaser
An evening with John Glaser of Compass Box whisky – one of the most respected whisky makers of his generation who was once labelled the ‘enfant terrible’ of the whisky world, Glaser shows off a selection of his beguiling boutique Scotches, including his Orangerie that was once called ‘disgracefully drinkable’.
“John Glaser’s personal Jihad is to revolutionise the tweedy world of Scotch whisky,” Details Magazine.
